Welcome To My English Country Cottage

It’s me, I’m so tiny! Ok, the hollyhocks grew into man eating plants last summer.

In May 2020 our little thatched cottage was featured in Period Living Magazine. It was the culmination of 7 years of creating a family home with my “effortless rural style” – I have taken this as a positive comment on my interior design style rather than a reference to the lack of housekeeping, muddy wellies and occasional strange smell and have created a website to write about interiors, gardening, recipes and country living.

I decided that we are all stuck at home and maybe possibly need to look at lovely things and try and raise a smile. I write daily posts on Instagram that are also available here to the right of the front page about our life in the countryside in a slightly dilapidated but much loved thatched cottage. Every Sunday I will be exploring what makes “An English Country Cottage” along with a weekly Pantry Recipe on a Wednesday from the super talented Lucy @lucyhoylecooks and a weekly Friday cutting garden feature written by the lovely Karen who runs a floristry pop up “FlowersandlifestylebyMargot”.

I hope that maybe you can lose yourself for a couple of minutes with a nice cup of tea and a read (or possibly a gin if you have been home schooling like me).

I look forward to reading your posts each day. They make me laugh so much and even nod in sympathy but they are so endearing because they are the unvarnished truth! 💕 💕 💕
